Roller Skating is a planned
activity. Families will not drive by your facility, see the
sign, and suddenly decide to go skating. This means that you
do not have to have the most prime piece of real estate in
your area. Look at your facility as a land investment. Buy
a piece of property that should be in the prime area of town
in about ten years. If possible, buy more land then you need,
with the hope of eventually selling off some of the frontage.
Make sure that you check for any city or county building
restrictions. Some rinks could have saved over several hundred
thousand dollars if they had built three miles down the road
and moved outside of the city limits.
